LEARNING METTATATIONS.

The best way to learn about and start to practice Mettatations is to come to one of our workshops. You can also watch one of the many videos on the website or on our YouTube channel (I'll be recording new better quality videos soon).

Workshops / Classes

There are several different Mettatation workships and classes. The "Introduction to Mettatations" class/workshop will help introduce you to the practice and teach you the basics. Once you are familiar with the practice, the regular Mettatations classes will then allow you to explore a little deeper and develop a better connection with your mind, body, and heart. The 'Going Deeper' Mettatations classes will be more introspective classes where you can really explore what is going on inside your mind, body, and heart so that you can heal, cultivate, and develop. There will also be Special Mettatation workshops/classes which will focus on a specific theme or topic to help people deal with different issues such as: depression, or loss of a loved one, or dealing with change, etc. You can learn more about each type of class below.

All Mettatation classes will help you cultivate positive thoughts, emotions, energy, with the focus on turning them into positive actions in your life. Mettatations actively help you connect and cultivate positive virtues - Peace, Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Strength, Gratitude, and Wisdom.

Mettatations are truly your practice. They are completely open and customized practices so that you can tune into yourself and do what you need for your body, mind, and spirit. Mettatations are easy to learn and do, and are designed to make you feel more peace and happiness in your life.

'Introduction to Mettatations' Class Details
  • Mettatations are completely new practices, so the introductory class will walk you through the six different foundations of the practice - positive psychology, meditation, pranic breath work, yoga, movement, and touch. You will then learn the integrated Mettatation practice and how to connect deeper with your mind/body/heart and how to cultivate more positive thoughts, emotions, and virtues in your life. At the end of the class/workshop you will be able to cultivate more Peace, Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Gratitude, Strength, and Wisdom in your life at any time. The introductory class will open the doorway to developing a deeper connection with yourself.
Mettatations Class Details
  • Once you've learned how to Mettatate, you can start to go deeper within and explore your own mind, body, and heart. The core Mettatation classes are about examination and cultivation. You will learn how to decrease your negative emotions and reactions and replace those behaviors with cultivating practices, building strength and resilience. You will increase your capacity for 'emotional hygiene,' emotional healing, emotional development, and emotional connection. You will also start noticing more peace and happiness in all aspects of your life.
'Going Deeper' Mettatation Class Details
  • As you start to connect, listen, and develop your mind, body, and spirit, you can really start to cultivate deeper levels of peace and happiness in your life. By going deeper you are able to heal and grow from examining and fixing core personal issues that may be holding you back. You will know how to cultivate the positive actions and thoughts you need for the moment and live a happier more fulfilling life. Mettatating can be integrated into every moment of your day and you will notice a significant positive shift in every area of your life. As you 'go deeper' you learn what it means to truly love and take care of yourself and to build stronger, better, more positive relationships with everyone.
Special Mettatation Class Details
  • There will be special Mettatation classes that focus on a specific theme or topic. We will hold special classes focusing on depression, lossing a loved one, accepting change, and more. We will also have special classes for kids, for women, elderly adults, for people with autism/aspbergers, and more. If there is a specific issue or group that you would like to see a class built around let us know.

METTATATION CLASSES

What to expect - This practice is about YOU. Come as you are with an open mind. The first time you Mettatate can be quite a powerful experience. Mettatations are about cultivating positive energy so you should feel more peaceful and happy after every class.


What to bring - Bring a yoga mat, a pillow or bolster to sit on, a pencil or pen, and paper or a journal to write in.


What to wear - Comfortable clothes.


NOTE: THIS IS NOT A "HATHA YOGA" CLASS - The instructor will NOT be leading you through a series of physical positions, however, the teacher may have you stand, lie down, sit, stretch, or twist, etc., during class. YOU can choose to be in and move into any position you need to connect your mind, body, and spirit. This is truly your practice and we want you to feel good so you will be choosing which position(s) you want to be in and how you want to move in and between positions.

Gratitude is one of the keys to health and happiness. We are all dependent on one another and this planet. There are so many things and people to be grateful for, and when we practice gratitude we realize our connection to others and ourselves.

Freedom from Judgement - Freedom from self-judgement and judging others. We label things as good or bad too soon. We avoid discomfort when sometimes we need to deal with it and look for the lessons. We are all sacred, we are all learning, life is a constant growing journey to enjoy.

We need to develop our Strength and Confidence so that we can pursue our dreams. We all face challenges and we need the strength to take care of ourselves and do the work we need to do to full, happy, healthy lives.

The Foundations of Mettatations

Mettâtations are the integration of several practices into new healing, restorative, and energizing practices. To understand the practice fully, you can examine the individual and integration of the different components listed below. Mettatations are powerful and multi-faceted practices directly connecting the internal (mind, body, spirit), external (others/world), and universal; with the past, present, future.


Positive Psychology

How we use our mind to help ourselves flourish is the most important thing to master. Happiness only comes from within our mind. What we think about things is more important than the thing that happens. Let's actively build positive thoughts and turn them into positive actions.

Air is literally energy. We take the breathe, the air for granted. The air we breathe holds the energy of the universe. We can bless the air we breathe and use it to heal and rejuvenate our body and mind.

Touching is essential for normal human development. Yet, in many cultures we don't touch. Unfortunately, touch, like love, can be misunderstood and make people uncomfortable. Yet it is an extremely powerful energy source that we can use to heal and energize our body and mind.

Movement during Mettâtation. Movement helps us to directly access the energy in our body so that we can replace it with positive energy. Movement is encouraged in Mettâtations. Move and do what makes your body feel good!


Meditation

The meditation part of mettâtation practices is different. Mettâtations have a goal. Instead of trying to create space from our thoughts, we are actively creating positive thoughts and energy within our mind, body, and hearts.

Yoga

Yoga

Mettâtations fall under the larger 'Yoga' umbrella. It is a combination of the branches of Yoga into a new practice with the added advantage of integrating the latest benefits of positive psychology research. Move, Breathe, Live Well.
