Mettâtations and The Air We Breathe.
Pranayama - Pranic Breathwork

The most important thing you will do today is to breathe. Air is literally energy that you are bringing into your body to live. It is your connection to all things. There is a miracle in every breath, and it's quite amazing when you think about it.

The energy of the air is extremely powerful. Air is your life force energy. Most of us take the breath for granted, yet it is the most important thing we need to live. And this makes it great opportunity to practice gratitude. We can be grateful for the air and every breath, every second of our lives. If we are grateful for each breath and we bless the air that we breathe, we can turn each breath into a powerful practice. The air is literally energy that our body needs every second of every day. Think about how powerful that is, and how much energy must be in every breath that we take. It's amazing when you realize it. And we can use different breathing exercises to heal, rejuvenate, and energize our body, mind, and spirit.

Another way to honor and energize the air we breathe so that we can utilize it's power is to realize what it is and where it comes from. Think of how many times it's circled the earth, how many things it's seen, where it's been, and what it's done. The air you are breathing this very moment has been in the depths of the ocean, across the great mountain ranges, through the great forests, across The Great Wall, and across the Pyramids! The air you are breathing right this moment carries all of that positive energy with it! And it is giving you life!

When we bless the air we breathe, as it enters our body we turbo-charge it with positive energy. When we bless it while we are mettatating and touching and moving, and listening to or repeating a positive mantra, then we are super-charging the air. This part of the practice is one of the most amazing and body tingling experiences.

Mettâtations are the integration of several practices into new healing, restorative, and energizing practices. Touching is essential for normal human development. Yet, in many cultures we don't touch. Unfortunately, touch, like love, can be misunderstood and make people uncomfortable. Yet it is an extremely powerful energy source that we can use to heal and energize our body and mind.

Movement during Mettâtation. Movement helps us to directly access the energy in our body so that we can replace it with positive energy. Movement is encouraged in Mettâtations. Move and do what makes your body feel good!

The meditation part of mettâtation practices is different. Mettâtations have a goal. Instead of trying to create space from our thoughts, we are actively creating positive thoughts and energy within our mind, body, and hearts.
